The University of Shizuoka used people with high chances of developing colds and flu as their main respondents. These people were asked to gargle Green Tea at least 3 times per day. During the end of the experiment, it was found out that the respondents’ chances of contracting colds and the flu was reduced.

The Archives of Internal Medicine published a study that showed a 46%-65% reduction in hypertension risk in regular consumers of green tea, compared to non-consumers of tea.

University of Kansas researchers determined that EGCG is twice as powerful as resveratrol, which may explain why the rate of heart disease among Japanese men is quite low, even though approximately seventy-five percent of them are smokers.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition published the results of a study at the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Researchers found that men who were given a combination of caffeine and Green Tea extract burned more calories than those given only caffeine or a placebo.

The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition concluded that “a higher consumption of Green Tea is associated with a lower prevalence of cognitive impairment in humans."

Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published a study that concluded that "Green Tea consumption is associated with reduced mortality due cardiovascular disease."

The Journal of the American Dietetic Association showed that Green Tea trimmed 5 to 6 points more from people's total cholesterol and "bad" LDL cholesterol levels than dummy capsules or other treatments.

Carcinogenesis (Sun CL et al) published a meta-analysis of 13 studies that suggest that Green Tea reduces the risk of breast cancer. In this study, compared to women who did not drink Green Tea, those who consumed the most Green Tea were 22% less likely to develop breast cancer.

The European Journal of Clinical Nutrition published a study that found that tea is a healthier choice than almost any beverage, including pure water, because tea not only rehydrates as well as water, but provides a rich supply of polyphenols, which protect against heart disease.

The Journal of Nutrition published a series of experiments that revealed that the mixture of catechins naturally found in a dose of Green Tea dependently inhibits the activity of pancreatic lipase, the enzyme secreted by the pancreas that digests fat. As a result, both the rate at which the body breaks down fats into triglycerides and the rise of triglyceride levels in the bloodstream that occurs after meals are greatly slowed.

Many studies have found an association between consuming Green Tea and a reduced risk for several cancers, including skin, breast, lung, colon, esophageal, and bladder. Yerba Maté is a small tree native to the subtropical highlands of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. The tea is brewed from the dried leaves and stems of this perennial tree.
